International Women's Day - Friday 7th March 2014

International Women's Day has been celebrated across the world since the early 1900's.  Originally, its aim was to provide a forum for women to campaign for equality and women’s rights.  Over time, it has evolved and now in March each year, thousands of events are held throughout the world to recognise the progress that has been made, to inspire women and to celebrate their achievements.

As part of this worldwide celebration, the University of Aberdeen invites you to join us at our 2014 International Women’s Day Conference “INSPIRING WOMEN : IT’S A (WO)MAN’S WORLD” on Friday 7 March 2014.
Through a programme of high-profile speakers and invited guests, we aim to take an in-depth and thought-provoking look at issues which are central to career development for female colleagues at a local, national and international level.

The event will be hosted by Professor Neva Haites OBE FMedSci FRSE, Vice Principal for Development and Equality & Diversity at the University of Aberdeen.
